Holi festival

Holi

Holi is a hindi festival of colours or the festival of love. It is celebrated in Spring on the day of the full  moon( Februrary- march). Holi celebrates the " death" of winter and the " re-birth" of spring.  The  genesis of the Holi festival is inferred from the different Indian myths. During this festival the people  kindle bonfires, where the symbols of Evil are burned. The objective is to eliminate the differences  between rich and poor and to reach the Divine. Holi is celebrated by people throwing colours powders  and water at each other. It is a good time to meet with other people and improve relations with old  friends. The people eat, dance and play music. Holi is a very beautiful festival. To my mind, it is the best time in India

Divali!!!

In this post I will write about " Divali" - "

festival of lights" which we celebrated on 23

October

Divali is also know as " Deepavali" and " festival of lights "

which celebrated in autumn. This festival lasts for five days.

Every hindu lights the olive lamp in front of his house to

welcome "Lakshmi", the goddess of fortune and prosperity.

The lamps represent the victory of light over darkness, good

over evil. A lot of cultural events are hold for the celebration

of this festival.

It's one of the most important traditional  holidays celebrated

in the whole India. It is a very good  opportunity to meet with

family and friends. The Indian culture is very close to me,

because I lived with an Indian  family last year and had to

celebrate all hindu festivals with them. It was a very good

experience for me.
